Invitation for Expression of Interest
The SZMSA invites expressions of interest (EOI) to serve as SZMSA member at large representatives on the South Zone Medical Administrative Committee (SZMAC).
South ZMAC Members-at-Large
All South ZMAC members-at-large must be members in good standing of the SZMSA. The following exclusion criteria apply to all representatives:
Member of council of a professional regulatory body
AMA Board member
AMA section president
AMA geographic representative to Representative Forum
Practitioner with a contracted AHS administrative / leadership position
An AMA geographic representative or a Practitioner with an AHS contracted administrative position, may be considered by the Zone Medical Staff Association as a candidate, but may be appointed only if approved by the Zone Medical Director.
Commitment
SZMAC meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month except July and August from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. The preparation time is minimal. The work of the committee is described in the excerpt from the Terms of Reference below.
Term
2-year term with an option to be re-elected at the discretion of the SZMSA Executive.
Compensation
Member at large representatives from the SZMSA are compensated for meeting time at AHS rates. These are available on request.
Terms of Reference
Establishment and Purpose
The Zone Medical Administrative Committee is established pursuant to the Medical Staff Bylaws section 2.10.
The purpose of the South Zone Medical Administrative Committee (SZMAC, hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”) is to advise the South Zone Medical Director on matters pertinent to quality and safe patient care in the South Zone and to discharge all other duties assigned to it by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules.
Duties and Responsibilities
ZMSA representatives are based on the number of Zone Clinical Departments. The Committee has six SZMSA voting seats. The composition, duties and responsibilities are determined in the Medical Staff Rules Section 2.16.
